TEAMFounder: Assaf Vigdor Assaf Vigdor is the Founder & CEO of Startup City. Assaf's holds MBA in Global Business from JWU, Providence R.I & Executive Management Degree from Tel Aviv University. Prior to Startup City, Assaf served at the Senate Fiscal Office in Rhode Island State House. Upon its return back to Israel, Assaf led the Global Business Development Team at A.L. GROUP. One of Assaf's achievements was setting up a company in Japan (ATS KK). Assaf is well networked within the community and this set of connections helps open doors and introduce relevant opportunities.
Global Mentors: Lori Hoberman Lori S. Hoberman is the chair of the Emerging Companies / Venture Capital practice. Her practice emphasizes venture capital, private equity, and general corporate counseling for emerging as well as later stage and publicly traded companies. Lori focuses on a range of industries, including telecommunications, software, biotechnology and life sciences, social networking, consumer products, Internet search and advertising, gaming and other media. Ms. Hoberman has significant experience in the structuring of, and tax planning for, domestic and offshore private equity funds.
Gregg Steinberg Gregg is Chairman and CEO of the Charlemagne Group of companies which is comprised of Charlemagne Global Advisory, a strategy and operations advisory firm for both for profit and not for profit entities. Charlemagne Holdings investing in and advising early to mid-stage companies, Charlemagne Real Estate Holdings, a real estate investment company and Charlemagne Call Centers focused on outsourced business and sales development. Mr. Steinberg is a past member of the US Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Council, its Homeland Security Task Force, its International Policy Council, its Business Civic Leadership Council and the BCLC’s Working Group on Disaster Recovery.
Samuel Shafner Samuel is the President at New England Investors Committee of Capital Innovation and a partner at the Boston law firm of Burns & Levinson. For over twenty years, Samuel has assisted large and small clients all over the world in negotiating business contracts and relationships. Mr. Shafner also provides strategic advice in business disputes. A major portion of Mr. Shafner's practice deals with corporate finance, investments, and mergers and acquisitions. He frequently counsels clients in public and private securities offerings, venture capital transactions, and strategic partnering arrangements, as well as outsourcing operations to Asia and elsewhere.
Gideon Shmuel The CEO of Eyesight and active member of the UK Global Entrepreneur Program. Gideon is an experienced Senior Executive with strong Sales, Business Development, Marketing, and Managerial skills. During 17 years of international experience in the Telecoms and Enterprise Software industries Gideon gained extensive track record of significantly growing sales, developing enterprises and delivering complex solution and technology sales. Although a strategic thinker, Gideon has the ability to develop and implement, throughout the organization, the tactics that will deliver results.
Lloyd Rothenberg Lloyd is a partner at Loeb&Loeb Law Firm. Lloyds work with private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, private investors, premium finance and life settlement companies, closely held businesses in a variety of industries and technology companies. His practice focuses on private equity acquisitions, financings and dispositions, mergers and acquisitions, premium finance loans, life settlements, strategic alliances and joint ventures, complex commercial transactions, venture capital investments and private placements of securities. Mr. Rothenberg also represents high-net worth individuals, corporate executives, closely held business owners and U.S. citizens and residents residing in Israel in a variety of commercial transactions and in connection with their estate and tax planning.
